Navratri Celebration
Shri Chimanbhai Patel Institutes organize ‘Dandiya Dhamaal’ for their students and alumnus every year during the auspicious days of Navratri which symbolizes the victory of good over evil. The evening is full of fun and frolic wherein the best female and male dancers from each stream are awarded prizes. The event is enjoyed thoroughly by the students and it is a grand success year on year.

Sports Day
Shri Chimanbhai Patel Institutes organize sports day for its students every year in the beginning of the year to develop the sporting spirit amongst students. The students are provided a platform here to display their physical prowess and gain hands on experience of managing such events. The students display commitment, coordination and enthusiasm and make sports day a huge success every year.

Zorba
Academic term remained vibrant for all MCA students due to recreational activities held at MCA campus named ZORBA 2018. Active student participation was observed in various activities like Talent Shows, Mark ur Signature, Musical Chair, Ramp Walk with Traditional Dress and Fun with Garba. Mime performed under the ‘Show Case Talent’ was appreciated by one and all present there.

Guest Lecture
Googler Manan Shah had visited the campus on 29th Jan, 2018. He motivated the MCA students by delivering a talk on ‘How to prepare for Big IT Giants’ like Google, Amazon and others. CPIMCA alumni student and young entrepreneur Mr. Nishant Contractor also guided students about the upcoming technologies useful for their careers.
 

Seminars Held By MCA Faculties
Prof. Harish Morwani & Dr. Priyank Nahar conducted two seminars on Bitcoin/Blockchain technology at J G College of Computer Applications and Navgujarat College in March, 2018. The seminars gave the students a glimpse of what is the technology behind bitcoin which is gaining a lot of limelight in media now-a-days. The sessions also highlighted the current lacunae in the financial system and how they can be solved using Block Chain Technology.
 

Alumni Meet
College life is an imperative phase in a student’s academic journey. It’s a pleasure to know how students are performing in their professional life. Alumni meet is a platform for ex-students of the institute to visit the campus again to relive old memories. The alumni meet 2018 was conducted on 21st April 2018 at our institute campus. Around 60 alumnus graced the occasion filled with fun, fervor. Discussions regarding how alumnus can contribute in the professional growth of existing students was carried out.

 

Workshop On Vulnerability Assessment, Penetration Testing And Web Application Security
Shri Chimanbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Computer Applications organized a state level workshop titled “Vulnerability Assessment, Penetration Testing and Introduction to Web Application Security” on 19th and 20th March, 2016 at their campus. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Manu Zacharia, who is a renowned information security evangelist with more than 20 years of professional experience. He was awarded the prestigious ‘Microsoft Most Valuable Professional’ award for four years in Enterprise security stream. The workshop provided the participants with a basic understanding of the known and unknown terminologies used in cyber world with a lot of real life case studies. The workshop also included the entire gamut of cyber security tools including Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT).

Workshops Series
Shri Chimanbhai Patel Institute of Computer Applications organized a 2-days workshop with hands on practical experience on “HTML5, CSS3 and Java Script” on March 9th and 10th, 2016 where more than 65 students from BCA and MCA participated. A similar workshop was organized on “Android Application Development” on 11th and 12th March, 2016 where more than 80 students from MCA participated. The workshop was sponsored by “Skill India Project” and executed by NIIT. All the participants were awarded a certificate at the end of the workshop. It was an enlightening experience for the MCA students to undergo a professional application development training.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

 

  • Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a two-year postgraduate programme.
  • The MCA programme follows a semester pattern, with a total of four semesters spanning over two academic years. Each academic year consists of two semesters, providing students with a structured and comprehensive learning experience.
  • The curriculum is designed as per the guidelines of the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is updated regularly to ensure that it remains relevant and up to date with emerging technologies.
  • The programme emphasizes a unique blend of theoretical and practical knowledge, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with diverse tools used for developing efficient applications.
  • The curriculum covers both core and specialized subjects, providing a strong academic foundation for a career in computer applications.
  • The programme includes industry project work, allowing students to apply their skills in real-world scenarios and bridge the gap between academia and industry.

 

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

In the context of a complex, ever-changing, and dynamic environment:

 

  • PEO 1: To impart sound knowledge of the latest technologies used in Computer Science.
  • PEO 2: To imbibe the ability of designing, developing, modifying, and fine-tuning suitable computer applications.
  • PEO 3: To imbibe the ability of gathering user requirements to write computer programs according to the customer needs.
  • PEO 4: To solve practical problems using IT and computer related tools in the chosen area of specialization through electives.
  • PEO 5: To build a pool of technically qualified manpower that can easily become productive in the industry.
  • PEO 6: To develop professionals and leaders of high caliber imbibed with values of entrepreneurship, ethics, and social responsibility.

 

Program Outcomes

The program outcomes specify the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes students are expected to attain at the end of program. The outcome of the program is expected to be achieved at the end of program as given below:

 

  • Develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, formulate and solve complex computer science problems.
  • Acquire knowledge of various programming paradigms, principles, and practices to design, develop, and maintain software systems.
  • Develop effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with peers, clients, and stakeholders in the development of software applications.
  • Acquire proficiency in various aspects of computer science, including algorithms, data structures, databases, networking, and security.
  • Understand the importance of ethical, social, and legal issues in the development and deployment of software systems.
  • Engage in continuous learning and keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in the field of computer science.
  • Develop the ability to design and implement software applications that meet user needs and are efficient, reliable, and maintainable.
